Evmorfia Metaxaki was born in Athens. She studied with Misa Ikeouchi at the National Conservatory in Athens where she graduated with honors. She continued her education with Ks Lilian Sukis  and Ks Elisabeth Wilke at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg. She completed her Master’s degree in «Opera and Musical Theater» with the highest honors. For her interpretation of Susanna in «Le Nozze di Figaro», she received the prestigious «Lilly Lehmann»-Medal, the highest award given by the International Mozart Foundation. During the course of her studies, she was granted with the «Gianna Szel»-Scholarship from the Mozarteum University and  the «Lions Amadea»-Scholarship, subsidized by the Salzburg Lions Club. During her studies she also attended master classes given by Barbara Bonney, Thomas Hampson and Hartmut Höll.

She received her earliest stage experience by making guest appearances at the Landestheater Salzburg. Evmorfia Metaxaki made her Salzburg Festival Debut in Mozart's «Bastien/Bastienne und der Schauspieldirektor» in 2006, where she performed the roles of Mademoiselle Silberklang and Bastienne. Her participation at the festival was  a career highlight and also a great honor for the young soprano. Ms. Metaxaki's performance has been captured on DVD by Deutsche Grammophon. Her critical acclaim in the production lead her to be once again invited for the same production at the esteemed Salzburg Festival in 2007.

From 2004 to 2010, Evmorfia Metaxaki has been a member of the ensemble at the Theater Magdeburg, where she has performed several roles with great success. She has been seen and heard as: Pamina (Dia Zauberflöte), Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Hirte (Tannhäuser), Ilia (Idomeneo), Musetta (La Bohème), Amor (Orpheus und Eurydike),  and Despina (Così fan tutte). At the 19th Magdeburg Telemann Festival 2008 she sang Rodelinda in Telemann's Flavius Bertaridus. She also worked with the renowed director Andreas Kriegenburg in his first opera productions, Mozart's Idomeneo and Gluck's Orpheus und Eurydike. The Gluck production was nominated for the esteemed German Theater Award
«Faust» in 2006.

Her repertoire includes numerous roles in the genres of Opera, Operetta and Musical Theater, as well as several Lied cycles and a wide variety of concert literature. The soprano has demonstrated her versatility again and again in performances ranging from the classical to the contemporary. As a concert soloist and a Lied interpreter, she has performed works by Bach, Brahms, Haydn, Monteverdi, Mozart, Pergolesi, Ravel, Rossini, Schubert, Schumann, Strauss, Vivaldi and Wolf in Greece, Austria, Switzerland and Germany. Evmorfia Metaxaki made guest appearances at the Staatstheater Braunschweig, the Staatstheater Cottbus, the Staatstheater Mainz and the Theatre of Erfurt.

In the 2009/10 season Ms. Metaxaki will be appearing as: Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Eurydike (Orpheus in der Unterwelt), Frasquita (Carmen), Maria (West Side Story), and Findus (Pettersson und Findus). In February 2007 she was awarded the Special Prize for Young Artists (Förderpreis) by the Magdeburg Theater.
